Ye Olde Sausage Shop was born in 2006 in Oswaldtwistle Mills, opened by Martin and his father-in-law, David. On their opening Saturday back in 2006 in came Jessica, visiting with her Mum and Auntie Elaine - who is Martins mum - keeping in with the family business theme! She was talking to Martin about getting a paper round to earn a bit of pocket money but Martin suggested her coming to work for him, as a Saturday girl. She pulled her face but agreed to wash up, her words being "I'm not touching any of that meat!", so the following Saturday she arrived with her bright purple washing up gloves (which is still a talking point 13 years later) at the tender age of 13 ready to start her first job, swiftly learning to make sausages and hand linking over 60lb on her first day! David's son Daniel was part of the family run business and still keeps us all in check 13 years later, he keeps the shop tidy, keeps the whole of Oswaldtwistle and surrounding areas supplied with their favourite burgers and makes the best cups of tea ever!
Over the years they've won multiple gold awards for sausages and also regional champion awards, they also made it through to the last 7 in Britain where they attended the ceremony in London. Jessica also won the Young Sausage Maker Award 3 times over and has won 2 Craft Butchery Competitions, she is also the first women to ever represent Britain in Butchery, she competed in Belfast for the 2018 World Butchers' Challenge and is set to compete in California in September 2020.
On top of running a successful business, Jessica also promotes their business on their Facebook page with the help of her little mascot, Ollie the Shetland Sheepdog, and is often accompanied by a glass of prosecco or two!

On top of that, they have extended their range of ready meals and innovative products using pork, chicken, beef and pastry, which are ever-changing and growing week in week out.
